Preparation Method and Usage:
What is the process behind making the Blooms?
Every tea bloom is meticulously handcrafted. Fine whole tea leaves are arranged around exquisite, natural flowers and are skillfully hand-tied by skilled tea artisans.
They are then encased in cotton cloth and dried into their distinct forms. Each bloom is unique. This practice is known as “Tea Art”.
Steeping Guidelines:
- Boil water in a separate kettle and allow it to cool slightly. Place one tea bloom into a clear glass teapot or a large clear mug, then pour in the water.
- The tea leaves along with the flower blooms will unfold in about 3-7 minutes. If your tea blooms are taking too long to open, it might be that the water isn’t sufficiently hot.
- For the best results, use water that is very hot or nearly boiling. As you pour and enjoy the tea, gently refill the pot with hot water to create multiple servings.
- It is normal for some tea leaves and flower fragments to detach and float in the tea. Therefore, we provide a coiled metal strainer in the spout of our teapots. However, it is perfectly fine to consume the bits of tea leaves and flowers.
- Initially, the tea blooms may float when the water is added. As the tea leaves soak up the water, the blooms should sink to the bottom of your pot.
Can I reuse a tea bloom multiple times?
You can carefully add hot water to the tea bloom repeatedly to create several servings of tea. Many enjoy keeping a pot on their desk, continuously adding hot water to savor the tea for hours. We advise against saving the tea bloom for reuse the following day.
